Workshop Summary
This Sci-Tech Workshop Summary, released April 30, will be available for review and comment until May 8, at which time it will be sent to the Leadership Council for approval and released to the broader EarthCube community.

Purpose and Goals
This workshop will (in the context of the cyberinfrastructure products domain scientists need) identify a mechanism for representing an EarthCube Lexicon; and delineate (by producing a roadmap and template) processes for defining Essential Variables and use cases in different geoscience domains. This workshop is a joint effort between EarthCube's Science Standing Committee and Technology and Architecture Committee (TAC).

Venue: The Meeting will be held at the Hotel Shattuck Plaza, 2086 Allston Way, Berkeley, CA. 

Lodging: Your room will be booked under your name at the Hotel Shattuck Plaza. 

Transport: Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART) has trains running to the Downtown Berkeley BART station from Oakland International (~30 min) and SFO (~60 min). Please be sure to save your public transport receipts for reimbursement—these will appear in the bottom tray of the BART ticket machine along with your ticket. 

Meals: Lunch and two breaks will be provided as part of this workshop. But participants will be on their own for breakfast.

Reimbursement: We are able to reimburse for travel, lodging, and meal expenses related to this meeting per our Travel Reimbursement Policy. Due to new state regulations, the EarthCube Office will require original receipts in order to process reimbursement for incidentals such as luggage fees, airport parking, and ground transportation. Please feel free to contact the Office with any questions.

To receive reimbursement, you will need to complete the State of Arizona Substitute W-9 & Vendor Authorization Form. (If you have previously submitted this form, you do not need to do so again.)  To expedite the process, you may bring the completed form with you to the meeting, or email or fax it to Kendra Decker at 520-770-3505.
